Saab Premium Compact renders published

The debate about which category and model had to expand Saabs portfolio and the existing  9-3 and 9-5 models is several years long and argumented from every possible angle. Behind the curtains of the development departement there was made a decision, a premium compact car, possibly called Saab 9-1.

Saabsunited exclusively published a picture of it. Allthough still only in a render phase, it shows a design based on the next generation convertible 9-X Air concept. The front, the roof line, the rear side everything is there. The windows remind on Aero X.

This is a clean message to the possible new owner, that this is the way to go. I assume this is a size of a BMW 1. According to the Saabsunited, it comes directly from Saab.

Both the 9-X Air as well as the Aero X are an important part of the saved Saab Museum, which should be reopened at 24.3.2012.

There were other studies of a possible compact Saabs done by enthusiasts and Photoshop skillers. For example the Saab Sixten, the Nine-Two or this 9-1.
